This is much more than a spin-off; it is an entirely different view of an already detailed and consequence-driven universe. Character-driven stories against a highly geopolitical motivated narrative are set to the backdrop of an extremely limited space program. Expect the absolute most from the space program.

Star City, as a drama-infused bad pacing show, slow but sure focuses on character vs plot vs action. Definitely not a show to watch while scrolling through social media. Each episode creates a new layer of tension showing the protagonist’s internal struggles and external pressures from the soviet system. With a long enough run time, multiple themes will be created that explore the political intricacies to let the human drama unfold. While doing my android tests, I was able to notice shifts of power and despair triumph subtle moments. This show was designed to be immersive and not rushed. The means of each episode is a part of the work as a whole. You will find no second screen once the episodes drops. Most will likely find the start difficult and speed to keep up with the self made limits. Even as a self paced show I hope this shows just as much self patience as its meant to be just about every frustrating techno thriller in the future.

Screen Time: Pick Your Planet

Star City has lots of plot details, character interactions, and historical descriptions that are worth your time to watch in theatres. The longer your screen is, the better the visuals and how they tell the story will be. I watched on a PC and the detailed production and subtle cast details made it even more immersive. It was also surprisingly good on my android phone. There is a lot of dialogue and the story relies heavily on it so you will not miss any details, some of the screen's value might feel like a waste, but you probably won't miss the dialogue. Despite that, I would recommend watching it on a screen that is larger than a computer, possibly even gathering the family to watch it on a TV. I don't think it would be good to view the episodes out of order since it would be better if it was done in a not busy environment where you had less distractions. The series doesn't want your focus split among other tasks.

The series is well composed and well thought out. It captures the essence of the Iron Curtain and the view of the Space Race is worthy.
