The show also does a great job of combining comedy with good writing in the drama as divorce, anxiety, and self doubt, are very sensitive issues after all, and not every show can combine these elements don't without being just a standard sitcom.

The initial pacing might have felt like a misstep at times. Viewers desiring immediate satiation may be tested due to the first several episodes relying on viewer patience. Several critics have mentioned that the charm exhibited by characters often elicits a more hypothetical form of humor rather than consistently sharp jokes. The feel-good factor at times more closely resembles saccharine which may be unappealing to individuals who would prefer entertainment with a sharp witty or cynical edge. It is true that the show evolves and leaves behind some of the harsh criticism of early characterizations that utilize cultural stereotypes.
